The researchers found that bacteria levels continued to climb unless desks were wiped clean with a disinfectant. The study was Funded by a grant from the Clorox Company and concluded that germs were higher in personal work areas than surfaces in common areas. With the average workweek now 47.1 hours (according to the Families and Work Institute), employees need to get up to speed on office hygiene.
